Welcome to the O’Keeffe Clan Website!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 1996, during the early days of the internet, the O\u2019Keeffe Clan web site was created to help descendants of O\u2019Keeffe, and other spelling variations, connect and share information with one another.  Over 25 years later, and with the advent of new technology, our focus has expanded to the preservation of genealogical, historical, and biographical data pertaining to the O\u2019Keeffe surname.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

O’Keeffe Clan Family Tree<\/a>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A One Name Study – O\u2019Keeffe – centered family tree. Originally built from information provided by O\u2019Keeffe researchers, Message Boards, and Genealogy Forums, the database now includes many publicly available O\u2019Keeffe records.  Sources include but not limited to:  Census of Ireland, Irish Genealogy, RIP.ie, Irish Army Census Records, Find a Grave, WikiTree, and Family Search. Currently there are over 160,000 O\u2019Keeffe\u2019s and their spouses in the combined on-line databases.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

2016 O’Keeffe Clan Gathering<\/a>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Diaspora is an Irish project to promote tourism in Ireland to help with their economic situation.  The idea is for the local people in Ireland to collectively use parish records and search for descendants of those who left Ireland.  One of the branches of project became known as the Irish Gathering.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2016 an O\u2019Keeffe Gathering was held in Ireland.  The website for the project, \u201cokeeffeclans.com\u201d, has since retired; the valuable contents of the website have been preserved here.  You may still visit the Facebook page \u201cO\u2019Keeffe clan rally 2016<\/a>\u201d.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

O’Keeffe History<\/a>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The O\u2019Keeffes have a rich history through the Kings of Munster that goes back to the time of Jesus.  The Kings of Munster and a variety of other information is contained in the O\u2019Kief, Coshe Mang, Slieve Lougher and Upper Blackwater in Ireland by Albert Eugene Casey. It is a sixteen-volume set first published in 1952; affectionately known as the Casey Collection.  Topics covered in this section include: Coat of Arms, Motto, Tartan, Kings, Castles, Gathering, Articles, Poem, and Notables.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

The O\u2019Keeffe Lineage from the Casey Collection, volume 1 page xii.  The lineage starts with Felim, BC 52 \u2013 AD 10, King of Munster and ends with number 48, Daniel O\u2019Keeffe, 1610-1694.  The Munster kings and source information is available in the O\u2019Keeffe Family Tree.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n
